Health and editorial disclaimer
Genesis publishes educational material about exercise, sports physiology, nutrition and recovery. It is not a clinic, physician, coach or emergency service, and no page establishes a professional relationship.
1. Limits of general information
Individual responses to training vary with age, medical history, medication, sleep, environment and prior activity. Examples on this site are not instructions to diagnose, treat, prevent or cure a condition. Stop exercise and seek appropriate care for alarming symptoms such as chest pain, fainting, severe breathlessness, confusion or sudden weakness. Readers should discuss meaningful changes with a qualified Indonesian health professional who can examine them. Genesis may correct errors but does not guarantee completeness or uninterrupted availability. External sources remain the responsibility of their publishers. No advertising relationship changes the need for independent clinical judgment. Questions about editorial scope can be sent to Jl. Sudirman 12, Jakarta Pusat, DKI Jakarta 10220, Indonesia. This disclaimer was issued 1 January 2026 and reviewed 1 June 2026.
Educational scope. Articles describe how exercise, sleep, nutrition and recovery are discussed in sports science literature. They are written by editors and contributors who explain evidence in plain language, but they do not examine you or your records. A general principle, such as how aerobic base work affects endurance, cannot account for your history. Readers should treat every page as a starting point for questions to put to a qualified professional.
- Summaries of published research and guidelines.
- Practical examples that illustrate a concept.
- No personal assessment or prescription.
Who the material is written for. Articles are written for healthy adults who are curious about how training, nutrition, sleep and recovery interact after the age of 35. They are not written for people who are pregnant, recovering from surgery, living with a diagnosed heart, kidney or metabolic condition, or following a treatment plan. Such readers should treat the content as background reading only and use it to prepare questions for their own clinician. The age reference reflects the editorial focus and is not a medical threshold.
- Intended for generally healthy adults.
- Not a substitute for a treatment plan.
- Useful as preparation for a conversation with a clinician.
Individual variation. Men over 35 differ widely in training age, joint history, blood pressure, medication use and daily workload. Heat and humidity in Jakarta and other Indonesian cities can also change how hard a session feels and how much fluid is lost. A routine that suits one reader may be too demanding or too light for another. Published figures such as heart-rate zones or weekly volumes are averages from study groups.
- Age, health history and medication.
- Climate, altitude and air quality.
- Sleep, stress and work schedule.
What the content does not do. The site does not diagnose, assess risk for an individual, prescribe exercise, recommend medication or interpret test results. Pages that discuss heart rate, blood pressure, body composition or laboratory markers describe how these terms are generally used. They are not a method for judging whether a particular number is acceptable for a particular person. Any decision based on a measurement belongs in a consultation with a qualified professional who knows the full history.
- No diagnosis or individual risk assessment.
- No prescription of exercise or medication.
- No interpretation of personal test results.
Warning symptoms. Chest pain or pressure, fainting, severe breathlessness, sudden weakness on one side, confusion, an irregular heartbeat that does not settle, or severe pain after a fall should be treated as reasons to stop and seek urgent care. In Indonesia, emergency services can be reached on 112, and ambulances through 119. Do not wait for an article, a message to Genesis or a follow-up search to confirm what to do.
- Stop the activity immediately.
- Call local emergency services or ask someone nearby to do so.
- Tell clinicians what you were doing and any medication you take.
Recognising warning signs. Chest discomfort, pain spreading to the arm or jaw, fainting, unusual breathlessness, sudden weakness on one side, confusion or an irregular heartbeat during activity are reasons to stop and seek care. In Indonesia, the national emergency number is 112, and ambulance services can be reached on 119. A reader who is unsure whether symptoms are serious should not wait for further reading on this site. Seeking care early is always preferable to continuing an activity while uncertain.
- Stop activity when warning signs appear.
- Call 112 or 119 for urgent situations.
- Do not delay care to consult website content.
Before changing activity. Readers who have a heart or lung condition, diabetes, high blood pressure, joint problems, or who have been inactive for a long period are encouraged to speak with a licensed physician before starting vigorous training. A professional may suggest screening, a gradual progression or restrictions that no general article could anticipate. Bringing a printed article to an appointment can help structure the conversation.
- Discuss goals, history and current medication.
- Ask which warning signs apply to you.
- Agree a review date for progress.
Medication and existing conditions. Some medicines affect heart rate, hydration, balance or the way the body responds to heat and exertion. Readers who take prescribed medication, including treatment for blood pressure or blood sugar, should ask their prescriber how exercise may interact with it. Articles on this site do not recommend starting, stopping or adjusting any medicine. Information about supplements is descriptive only and is not an encouragement to use them.
- Ask the prescriber before changing activity.
- Never adjust medicine on the basis of an article.
- Supplement information is descriptive, not advisory.
Sources and currency. Where articles refer to studies, position statements or public guidance, we name the source type and indicate when it was last checked. Research evolves, and a statement accurate in early 2026 may be refined later. We distinguish between strong evidence, emerging findings and expert opinion, and we label limitations such as small samples or short follow-up. Readers are encouraged to open the original sources rather than rely on summaries alone.
- Source type and date noted.
- Limitations stated in plain language.
- Corrections added with a date.
Interpreting research and statistics. Many studies cited on the site involve small groups, specific populations or short observation periods. Findings reported as averages do not tell an individual what to expect, and a result seen in one group may not repeat in another. Where possible, articles name the journal, year and study type so that readers can judge the strength of the evidence. Summaries are edited for clarity, and readers are encouraged to read the original source for full detail.
- Study design and year noted where possible.
- Averages are not personal predictions.
- Original sources are linked for verification.
Equipment, environment and technique. Training involves risks such as falls, overuse injuries and heat illness. Using unsuitable equipment, training alone without a plan for help, or ignoring pain can raise those risks. Examples of exercises on the site do not replace in-person instruction on technique, and qualified coaches can adapt movements to your body. Choose a safe surface, suitable footwear and a plan for hydration and shade.
- Check equipment before use.
- Increase load gradually.
- Stop when pain is sharp or unusual.
Heat, climate and local conditions. Jakarta and many other Indonesian cities combine high temperatures with high humidity, which can raise the effort needed for the same session. General articles on endurance do not account for local weather, air quality or traffic, so readers should adapt plans to their surroundings. Drinking water, shade, lighter clothing and shorter sessions are common considerations, but the right choice depends on the person. Local health authority and meteorological advice should take priority over general editorial guidance.
- Humidity affects perceived effort.
- Local advisories take priority over articles.
- Adapt session length to conditions.
No professional relationship. Reading the site, writing to the editorial desk or telephoning +62 813 5792 4680 does not create a doctor-patient, coach-client or other professional relationship. Staff can answer questions about what a page says or where a source is found, but cannot interpret personal symptoms or test results. Messages that describe an urgent situation will be redirected to appropriate services.
- Editorial questions: answered.
- Personal medical questions: referred to qualified clinicians.
- Urgent situations: redirected to emergency services.
Equipment and facility use. References to shoes, monitors, weights, tracks or gyms are given to explain a concept, not to recommend a product or a venue. Equipment should be used according to the manufacturer instructions and within the limits of the user. Readers who train in a gym should follow the venue safety rules and ask qualified staff for supervision when learning a new exercise. Genesis does not inspect facilities and cannot assess their safety.
- Follow manufacturer and venue instructions.
- Seek supervision for unfamiliar exercises.
- References are not product endorsements.
External links and advertising. Genesis links to outside sources for context. We do not control their updates, and the presence of a link is not a recommendation of any service, product or provider. Advertising, if shown, is labelled and has no influence on editorial content, as set out in the advertising policy. No commercial relationship changes the need for independent professional judgment.
- Links provided for reference.
- Advertising labelled and separated.
- Independent assessment encouraged.
No professional relationship or confidentiality. Sending a message to Genesis does not create a clinician-patient, coach-client or other professional relationship. The editorial desk cannot answer personal medical questions and will redirect them to a suitable professional service. Messages are handled under the privacy policy, but because they are not clinical records, readers should not include health details they would expect to remain confidential. Questions about the editorial content itself are welcome.
- No clinical or coaching relationship is formed.
- Personal medical questions are redirected.
- Avoid sharing sensitive health details in messages.
Accuracy and corrections. We review articles and aim to correct errors quickly, but we cannot promise that all content is complete or free of error at all times. The site may be unavailable during maintenance. Readers who find an inaccuracy can contact the editorial desk with the page title and a supporting source, and we normally respond within 10 working days. Material corrections receive a dated note on the page.
- Report the page and the statement concerned.
- Provide a supporting source if possible.
- Corrections noted with date.
Accuracy, updates and corrections. Health knowledge develops, and an article that was accurate on its publication date may later be refined. Each article shows a date, and substantial changes are explained in a dated note. Readers who find an error or an out-of-date statement can report it through contact.php, and the editorial desk reviews reports within 10 working days. Corrections that affect safety are given priority over routine edits.
- Dates shown on each article.
- Reports reviewed within 10 working days.
- Safety-related corrections handled first.
