Terms of use
These terms govern access to Genesis, an editorial information website operated from Jakarta, Indonesia. By reading the site you agree to use it lawfully, respect intellectual property and understand that editorial material is general education rather than medical advice.
1. Scope, content and responsibility
Genesis aims to publish accurate, useful material but cannot promise that every statement remains current or suits every reader. You remain responsible for decisions made after reading, including exercise, nutrition and use of equipment. Do not use the site to delay urgent medical care or to interpret serious symptoms without a qualified professional. Text, layout, marks and original editorial work belong to Genesis or its licensors, and may not be republished commercially without written permission. Reasonable personal reading and linking are permitted when attribution is retained. Third-party links are provided for context and are not endorsements. The site may change, suspend or correct content without notice. We retain contact records for 24 months and publish dated corrections where material. Indonesian law applies to these terms, subject to mandatory consumer protections. The terms were issued on 1 January 2026 and reviewed on 1 June 2026.
Acceptance and eligibility. Continuing to use the site after reading these terms indicates that you accept them. The material is intended for adults, and anyone under 18 should read it with a parent or guardian. If you do not agree with a provision, the appropriate step is to stop using the site. Using the site on behalf of an organisation means you confirm that you may bind that organisation to these terms.
- Adults may read, print and share pages for personal use.
- Minors should read with a responsible adult.
- Organisational use requires authority to accept the terms.
Definitions used in these terms. In this document, the site means all pages published under the Genesis name, the editorial desk means the small team that commissions, edits and corrects articles, and a reader means anyone who opens or links to a page. Defined terms are used in their ordinary sense and are not intended to create obligations beyond those stated. Headings are included for convenience and do not change the meaning of a provision. Where a term is ambiguous, it is read in the way that best protects the reader and the integrity of the editorial material.
- Site: every page, image and downloadable document published by Genesis.
- Editorial desk: the contact point reachable through contact.php.
- Reader: any visitor, whether or not a message has been sent.
Permitted and prohibited use. You may browse, bookmark and link to pages, and use the contact form for genuine enquiries. You may not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at a rate that affects other readers, bypass security measures or submit unlawful, defamatory or misleading material. Automated access for accessibility or archiving is acceptable if it is proportionate and identifies itself. We may block access that breaches these rules.
- Lawful, personal and educational reading.
- No interference with servers, forms or security features.
- No impersonation of Genesis staff or contributors.
No accounts and no purchases. Genesis does not currently offer user accounts, paid memberships, online shops or payment processing. The only interactive feature is the contact form, which is used for questions, corrections and permission requests. Because no payment details are requested, readers should treat any message asking for card numbers or passwords in the name of Genesis as unauthorised and report it through the contact page. If accounts or paid features are introduced later, these terms will be updated first and the change will be dated in the revision history.
- No passwords or payment details are ever requested by the editorial desk.
- Suspicious messages can be reported through contact.php.
- New features are described here before they are launched.
Intellectual property and quotation. Articles, illustrations, photographs, the Genesis name and page design are protected under Indonesian copyright law, Law No. 28 of 2014, and equivalent international rules. Short quotations of up to about 100 words are welcome for commentary, education or news reporting if the source is named and linked. Larger reuse, translation or commercial republishing needs written permission from the editorial desk. Rights in third-party images remain with their owners.
- Quotation with attribution and a link: permitted.
- Republishing full articles: written permission required.
- Removing credits or altering meaning: not permitted.
Changes to these terms. The terms may be revised when the law changes, when a feature is added or when a provision proves unclear in practice. The updated date at the top of the page shows when the latest revision took effect, and earlier versions can be requested from the editorial desk. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the revised terms, but a change that materially reduces a reader right is highlighted in the revision history rather than being placed quietly in a paragraph. Readers who disagree with a revision may stop using the site without any further obligation.
- Revision date shown at the top of the page.
- Material changes listed with the date in the final section.
- Earlier versions available on written request.
Messages you send. When you write to us, you remain the owner of your message. You allow Genesis to read, store and reply to it, and to quote it anonymously only with your consent. Please do not include medical records, identity documents or the personal details of other people. Messages are handled as described in the privacy policy, including the 24-month retention period.
- Content must be accurate and lawful.
- No attachments containing sensitive documents.
- Requests to delete a message are answered within 30 calendar days.
Respectful communication. Messages sent through the site should be civil, relevant and free of threats, harassment or discriminatory language. The editorial desk may decline to answer messages that are abusive or that repeat the same question many times without new information. Reports of factual errors are always welcome, even when they are expressed critically, and are reviewed on their merits. A message that includes unlawful content may be retained for the period needed to protect Genesis and, where required, passed to the competent Indonesian authority.
- Criticism of an article is welcome when it is specific.
- Abusive or repetitive messages may go unanswered.
- Unlawful content may be retained for legal protection.
Third-party links and materials. Articles may refer to journals, public agencies, event organisers and equipment makers so that readers can check a source. We choose links for relevance, not as a commercial recommendation, and we do not control what those sites later publish. A link can change or disappear, and we update broken references during routine reviews. Visiting a linked site is subject to that site own terms and privacy notice.
- Links indicate context, not endorsement.
- Dates of access are noted for key references.
- Report broken or inaccurate links through the contact page.
Linking to Genesis. Readers and organisations may link to any public page, provided the link does not suggest sponsorship, partnership or endorsement by Genesis. Framing the site inside another page, copying its layout or presenting its articles as the work of another publisher is not permitted. A link should use the page title or a neutral description, and should not be placed next to material that is unlawful or misleading. If a link is considered inappropriate, the editorial desk may ask for it to be removed and will explain the reason in writing.
- Plain text links to public pages: permitted.
- Framing or mirroring pages: not permitted.
- Implied endorsement: not permitted.
Educational nature of the content. The material explains physiology, training, nutrition and recovery in general terms. A principle that is common in the research literature may not fit your circumstances, and published ranges are averages, not personal targets. Adults over 35 often have different health histories, medication and workloads, which is why we encourage readers to consult a qualified professional before changing activity levels. Nothing on the site creates a professional relationship.
- General information, not individual advice.
- Ranges and examples are illustrative.
- Professional review is advised for health conditions.
Photographs and illustrations. Images on the site are used to illustrate topics such as training, nutrition and recovery, and they are not portraits of identifiable readers or patients. A caption or alternative text describes the scene rather than any individual result. Readers may not download images for resale, use them in advertising or train automated systems on them without written permission. If you believe an image infringes your rights, send the page address and a short explanation to the editorial desk, which will review the request and reply within 10 working days.
- Images illustrate themes, not personal outcomes.
- Commercial reuse requires written permission.
- Rights complaints answered within 10 working days.
Limits of liability. To the extent permitted by law, Genesis is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on the site, from interruption of access or from the content of linked sites. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, nor limits rights that readers hold under Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection where it applies. If a provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
- No exclusion of rights that cannot legally be excluded.
- Readers are responsible for their own activity choices.
- Severability of individual provisions.
Security and technical availability. Reasonable technical and organisational measures are applied to protect the site, including encrypted connections, access controls on administrative tools and routine software updates. No online service can be completely free of interruption or attack, so Genesis does not promise uninterrupted access. Readers are asked not to test the security of the site without permission, but responsible reports of a vulnerability are welcome and will be acknowledged within 5 working days. Reports made in good faith and without damage to other readers will not be treated as a breach of these terms.
- Encrypted connections and routine updates.
- No scanning or load testing without written permission.
- Good-faith vulnerability reports acknowledged within 5 working days.
Availability and changes to content. The site may be unavailable during maintenance, updates or events outside our control. We may revise articles for accuracy, restructure pages or withdraw material that is outdated. When a change affects the meaning of an article, we add a dated correction note rather than silently altering the text. Planned maintenance that lasts more than a few hours is announced on the home page where practical.
- Maintenance windows are kept short.
- Material corrections carry a date.
- Archived versions can be requested from the editorial desk.
Relationship with other policies. These terms should be read together with the privacy policy, the cookie policy, the health disclaimer, the editorial policy and the advertising policy. Each document covers a specific subject, and where a conflict appears the more specific document governs that subject. For example, the retention of contact messages is described in the privacy policy, and the use of cookies is described in the cookie policy. Links to each document appear in the footer of every page.
- Privacy policy: personal data and rights.
- Cookie policy: browser storage and choices.
- Disclaimer, editorial and advertising policies: scope of content.
Governing law and disputes. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. If a concern arises, we ask readers to contact the editorial desk first so that it can be discussed in good faith, and we aim to respond within 30 calendar days. Unresolved disputes are submitted to the competent court in Central Jakarta, unless a mandatory rule gives a reader the right to bring a claim elsewhere. Notices are valid when sent to Jl. Sudirman 12, Jakarta Pusat, DKI Jakarta 10220, Indonesia.
- Step one: written contact with the editorial desk.
- Step two: good-faith discussion for up to 30 days.
- Step three: competent court in Central Jakarta.
Language and interpretation. The authoritative version of these terms is the English text published on this page. If a translation into Bahasa Indonesia is provided for convenience, the English text is used to resolve any difference unless a mandatory rule requires the Indonesian version to prevail. Words in the singular include the plural, and examples introduced by a phrase such as for instance are illustrations, not limits. Dates are expressed in Western Indonesia Time, which is UTC+7.
- English text is authoritative.
- Translations are provided for convenience.
- Dates follow Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7).
Revision history and contact. We keep a dated record of changes so that readers can see which version applied on a given day. Questions about these terms can be sent through contact.php or by telephone on +62 813 5792 4680, and written enquiries are acknowledged within 5 working days.
